Florida teen claims $1M ‘a year for life’ prize on scratch-off game

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A teenager from Pompano Beach claimed a top prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery announced on Tuesday.

Hyury Oliveira, 19, purchased his winning ticket from A & J Seabra Supermarket, located at 839 West Sample Road in Deerfield Beach. That retailer will receive $2,000 for the sale.

Oliveira chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

The $50 scratch-off game features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life, 234 prizes of $1 million, and offers more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes.
