VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the business on Crandall Parkway at around 3:30 this morning.
They were notified by the store owner who saw several individuals in the buildings via surveillance video and immediately called dispatch to report it.
When deputies arrived, they observed multiple subjects in the process of loading bags from the store into an awaiting vehicle. But upon seeing the officers, they fled back into the store.
They say three of the subjects were able to find a door leading outside that was not covered and fled into the woods. One of those subjects was later apprehended by deputies as he ran out of the woods and attempted to get into their getaway car. One male was found inside the business and was taken into custody without incident.
A 3rd male was later located walking down I94 near County Road 681 where he disappeared into the woods to the north of the highway upon seeing an officer sent to check the area. The suspect was then found walking north on County Road 681 where deputies apprehended him. He was positively identified
